As you people would already know that this programming language is pretty much old & so is not supported by 64 bit and 32 bit operating systems so we need some software to properly run it in our windows & that software is DosBox. Have a look at Visual Basic. There a new things to learn in relation the GW BASIC but the underlying language is the same. I have a similar problem but a lot less pronounced. I am struggling with VB6 on Windows 7 so if you decide to go for VB you should go for VB.net which is part of Microsoft Visual Studio. You have to remember that programming languages these days are designed for multi tasking GUI environments. GE BASIC was designed for a single tasking text based environment. Nothing stands still.
