I borrowed a threshold stasis 3 Amplifier for a weekend once at the time i owned Maggies 2b speakers more then twenty years later i still remember how good that amplifier sounded im big fan of this amp wondered if anybody else enjoyed this amp as much as i didWhen a friend of mine bought his Stasis 2 I was so impressed with it I put a deposit down on a Stasis 3 and took it home on weekends with the intention of paying it off in installments. I had B&W DM-7 at the time, and the Stasis 3 could toss the little woofers around quite violently without ever losing control. Monday mornings I plugged my HK Citation 16a back in and despite the higher power, it could never achieve the same level of control at high volumes.

Flexible, routable Hardware Direct Monitoring allows you to send a customized, latency–free mix to each output pair. Windows 7. The iO|26 gives you forward–thinking expansion potential, with ADAT lightpipe inputs for additional connectivity, no matter what your recording sessions may demand.

Threshold stasis 3 power amplifier

The recession of '82 hit large and I was never able to complete the payments, but years later settled on an S-150 which is essentially the same amp. Still have it to this day. These little amps are quite robust.

Cool running, always in control and they do exceptionally well into complex and inefficient crossover loads. I no longer have the B&W and the S-150 is not the best match for the speakers I have now (Maggie 2.5r) but I can live with it.easily. Here's a quote taken from a review I found online: ' But it is at the low end where the 5/500 stands out from the crowd. I have never, ever heard an amplifier that can control woofers the way this one does. Low-end detail from every speaker I fed it to was better than I had heard from those speakers before. It is also one amplifier that has the capability of wiping out a bad load instead of vice versa.

' ~JGH Although this review is of the S/500, by it's description the lineage is unmistakably Threshold. The Stasis 3 had the same qualities but at a reduced power. What I learned from it was that in terms of power, quality of watts trumps quantity.
